Sooners Have Special Connection

Like most programs around the country Oklahoma has been making offers all over the country but recently they went with an offer to an area they are quite familiar with; sending out an offer to San Antonio area star Tommy Bush. The Schertz (Texas) Clemens standout has seen his recruiting skyrocket over the past few weeks including offers from Florida State, Nebraska, Oregon, LSU, Tennessee, and Notre Dame amongst many others.

One of those 'others' was Oklahoma who offered Bush on Valentine's Day and it seems that while all of the offers meant a lot to Bush Oklahoma has a unique connection tot he 6-foot-5, 185-pound Bush.

Bush could make it to Norman this spring.
Bush could make it to Norman this spring.

"(The) last few weeks have been out of control," Bush said. "It means a whole lot as my pops is from Oklahoma City, (he) graduated from Douglass High school and grew up watching the Sooners win a lot."

With that knowledge his father has definitely given him some working knowledge of the Sooners and Bush himself is aware of the recent successes of the Sooners as well.

"I have knowledge though my dad and what I read and watch on television such as (Dede) Westbrook, (Baker) Mayfield, and of course Bob Stoops (and his) winning," he relayed.

Bush was not able to make it to either of Oklahoma's junior day but has hopes of making it up to Norman this spring.

"Coach (Dennis) Simmons and I have been talking back and forth, he is straight forward," he said. "(I) definitely will try and either make a spring practice or possibly set something up with Coach Simmons just to talk football."

For now Bush says he is busy training and preparing for his upcoming season and is unsure of what visits he'll be taking.
