In Oklahoma's class of 2013 it seems that commitments are coming in doubles, and apparently on an odd-even schedule. The class opened with a commitment from running back Keith Ford on March 3, shortly thereafter Matt Dimon a defensive end from Katy, Texas joined the Sooner commitment list. And then just a few weeks ago the duo was joined by another running back Greg Bryant.
So what comes next?
A defensive end of course.
And the man filling the class of 2013's current timeline is perhaps Oklahoma's earliest ever in-state offer, Lawton standout D.J. Ward. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect, who is currently ranked as the state of Oklahoma's top prospect, was offered by the Sooners just after the completion of his sophomore school year.
The Rivals100 defensive end had given serious consideration to committing at the same time as Ford but took a bit more time to make his choice.
And it was actually his future position mate who broke the news.
"Want some juicy news? D.J. Ward just committed," Dimon texted to SoonerScoop.com early Saturday afternoon.
Moments later Ward confirmed the report that his status on both the SoonerScoop.com offer list and The War Board needed to be changed.
We'll have more from Ward in the very near future.
