Terry has Interest in Joining Teammate in Norman

Over the past few years South Oak Cliff has gone from one of the Dallas area's many solid, but largely forgotten, programs to one of the city's top talent producers. And that emerging talent production has caught the eye of the Sooner coaching staff who are just two weeks removed from signing four-star safety Prentice McKinney.
A few days ago the Sooners decided they wanted to add another Bear star to their ranks when they offered Rivals250 linebacker Marvin Terry. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect, who put up a combined 42-sacks during his sophomore and junior years, has never shied away from admitting he was an Oklahoma fan and soaked up every minute of his offer on Sunday.

"We were all in a group and the coaches actually pulled me out and sent me up to Bob Stoops' office and that was how they let me know," Terry said. "They were saying we like you so much and that I'll be a great fit for what they are trying to do and that's why they offered me a scholarship.
"I had started really thinking I wasn't going to get (an Oklahoma offer). But then I had a good feeling all the way on the drive up there."
Though it's easy for some to assume that Terry and McKinney are close friends simply because of their wearing of the same uniform on Friday nights in this case it's a completely fair assumption.
"Prentice took me to the locker room before everybody. He wants me to come," he admitted. "We are very close, that helps Oklahoma. OU has an advantage over every school that I've got because of that."
Another key aspect for the Sooners is the relationship that Terry is developing with Sooners linebackers coach Tim Kish.
"Coach Kish, he is a very good person, really, I feel like he really has interest in me," he said. "He is a good person, a good coach and I really like him a lot. He took me under his wing.
"I mean that was the first person to greet me and spot me up."
Terry says he will still be taking visits to TCU, Baylor, and potentially Texas Tech for junior day events but admits that Oklahoma's pitch of filling in for their current star outside linebacker might be what has propelled them to the top of his list.
"They want me to play outside linebacker, mainly the position that Eric Striker plays," Terry recalled. "I've got Oklahoma and then UCLA, Texas Tech, Oregon, and TCU."
