The Fields Forecast Touches Down
More and more every year recruits are involved with recruiting one another. And though all recruit to some degree or another just about every team, in every class, has at least one player who takes a special shine to the recruiting world. One such player in Oklahoma's class of 2018 that fits into that mold is Tulsa Union safety pledge Patrick Fields.
And with that in mind SoonerScoop.com has brought the Fields Forecast into the fold to offer you a first-hand look at five players that our members chose to hear about.
So who did our Sooner fans want to hear more about and what are Fields' thoughts on each?
The Lead-in: Orji has made numerous trips to Norman and has always seemed quite interest. Oklahoma is reportedly making a move in what looks to be a battle between the Sooners and their Red River rivals, Texas.
Patrick Fields: I actually haven't ever talked to Alston before, but from what I've heard I know we sit well with him but he's a freak athlete and looks really good visually from what I've seen.
The Lead-in: Perkins has been pretty open over the last few months that Oklahoma, led by Calvin Thibodeaux, has made a huge impression on him. He hasn't yet made his way to Norman but this summer or fall, he will.
PF: Ronnie is in our group chat and we actually talk often. I know he really likes Oklahoma. I think after he visits we'll be in really good shape.
The Lead-in: Few players in the 2018 class have been to Norman more often than Redmond who not only has huge interest in Oklahoma but also a connection with current Sooner safety Will Sunderland.
PF: I think it'll come down to us and Nebraska for Jalen. I know his mom and little brother are very influential to him so that'll help w him staying home. He resembles Obo (Okoronkwo) perfectly and could fit right into his position
The Lead-in: Simpson is another player that is tremendously familiar with Oklahoma and has been rumored to be mulling over a decision for the Sooners.
PF: I think with Darrell it's just a matter of time. I spoke real briefly with him and his parents at the spring game and I know momma seems to really like OU. She is actually from Oklahoma, so whenever momma likes a school u know u are in good shape.
The Lead-in: Trout has mentioned Oklahoma amongst his top handful of schools for quite some time now. Like Perkins when the Sooners can get him to campus things might start to look different.
PF: I actually haven't reached out to him yet or know too much about him, I've seen some video of him and he looks really explosive.
