Junior of the Year: Noah Jones

For one of the youngest programs around, it's becoming a pattern for Moore (Okla.) Southmoore to produce some of the state's top talent and the class of 2016 shows no signs of that relenting. With names like Kendal Thompson, Austin Haywood, and Julian Wilson in the Sabercats past a new name is ready to be added.
That player is SoonerScoop.com's 2015 Oklahoma junior of the year, Southmoore two-way standout Noah Jones.

As a junior Jones put up strong numbers with 72 total tackles and six sacks at his preferred defensive end position. However, his emergence as one of the state's top players should come as no surprise with a father that was a standout track star at Oklahoma in the 1980s.
"Yeah my dad, Aubrey Jones, ran track at Oklahoma and was part of the first team to win outdoor and indoor national championships or something like that," Jones tried to recall.
However, while his athleticism that led him to chasing down quarterbacks during Southmoore's big close to the 2014 season, it's his size that has been a surprise to most everyone, including his father.
"My dad is 6-foot, and my mom is 5-foot-9, we are trying to figure out where I got my size," the 6-foot-5, 250-pound Jones laughed.
To date Jones has heard from Oregon, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Colorado State, N.C. State, and several others, though he is still waiting for his first offer.
Jones, who prefers playing defensive end, says that he has a clear picture of what he is looking for.
"I want to go somewhere that I can go in and make an impact if not my first year, maybe my second year. Somewhere that can help me if I don't make it to the NFL or something like that.
Honorable Mention: Quan Hogan, Norman North, Calvin Bundage, Edmond Santa Fe, and Jeremy Lewis of Lone Grove.
