SoonerScoop.com Hits West Coast to See Sooner Targets

In a first for SoonerScoop.com the staff will be catching games in Arizona and California along with checking out prospects both in Texas and Oklahoma. While in the state of Oklahoma we'll be watching two largely unknown prospects facing a Sooner commitment and in Texas a pair of key Sooner offers face off.

Names To Know: Mark Andrews
It will be impossible to not notice Texas A&M commitment Kyle Allen but the focus will clearly be Oklahoma's most highly rated commitment. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound Rivals100 member committed to Oklahoma just over a month ago but few have seen him live and the chance to do so was too much for SoonerScoop.com to pass up on. Andrews' role at Oklahoma has been a cause of great debate how exactly can he figure into the Sooners plans? He seems likely to play early if things go well - is he ready for that responsibility?
Names To Know: Trae Anderson, Shane Block, Tyler Bowling, Andre Dowuona-Hammond, Michael Farmer, Justice Hansen, J.R. Hensley, and Ashton Preston
After attending Santa Fe's game last weekend in which the Sooner commitment, Hansen, did not take part it's a chance to watch him get going with his senior season. The talented quarterback has hopes of taking Santa Fe to it's first state championship and this win over a quality bunch from the Westside of Oklahoma City could play a huge role in reaching his goal. Though Hansen is well known 2015 prospects Anderson, Block, and Hensley are still being learned. Anderson is a speed receiver with good open field ability while Block and Hensley are part of a near historic 2015 offensive line class in the state.
Names To Know: Anthony Cerillo, Kevin Dillman, Tyler Luatua, and Dallis Todd
Obviously the focus should be on Oklahoma's Rivals250 wide receiver commitment Todd who the Scoop staff hasn't had a chance to see in person. Can Todd be the vertical threat that Oklahoma is looking for? Like Andrews the good news for Todd is that he has a talented quarterback to deliver the ball to him in Dillman - one of the country's best for 2015. An interesting player to watch could be Cerillo; could the Sooners make he and Dillman two focal targets of their 2015 recruiting efforts?
Names To Know: Bo Anderson, Solomon Thomas, and Chris Warren
There may be no meeting of the weekend where the focal points of evaluation may collide more than Warren and Thomas on Friday night. The elite defensive lineman will play a key role in slowing down one of the best backs in the Big 12 region. Both could be in Norman in the relatively near future for visits and it's safe to say they'll get acquainted on Friday.
Names To Know: Cameron Booty, Dylan Harding, Jeffery Mead, Carson Meier, Marquise Overton, Steven Parker, Robert Thomas, Darwin Thompson, and Brett Tye
Not only will there be three Oklahoma offers running around the field there are one or two others who could approach that level before things are said and done. And in recent years is there a matchup that could be more fun to watch than Harding and Parker trying to prevent the big play abilities of Mead and Meier? It's hard to imagine one and one way or another this one always provides these kind of fireworks. Keep and eye on Thomas who is a young player with a high ceiling but lots of development ahead of him. Meanwhile could Overton start to cement himself as a future Oklahoma offer?
Names To Know: Rayshawn Boyce, Rodney Carr, Jamardre Cobb, Kyahva Tezino, and Marquis Ware
A few months ago Salesian looked like it could be the key to Oklahoma's 2014 linebacker recruiting efforts and though Cobb and Ware have committed to Arizona they remain adamant that they'll visit Norman in the coming weeks. An interesting aspect could also be 2015 athlete Tezino who is picking up a load of early offers. Finally could Boyce and Carr attract some new attention from the Sooners?
