On March 21, Oklahoma will begin spring practices and effectively take the first steps of their 2017 season.
Unlike the NFL, college football is forced into constant changeover. Each year there are crucial seniors from the previous year's team that you know must be replaced, along with any player(s) that declare for the NFL Draft.
Even a team like OU - that finished in the top 5 last season, returns a Heisman finalist at quarterback, their entire offensive line, and 11 defenders that have started a game - will still be faced with filling large voids of production from guys like Samaje Perine, Joe Mixon, Dede Westbrook, Jordan Evans, Jordan Wade, and Ahmad Thomas.
Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops has said they will continue to have multiple looks in their formations, but that a 4-3 front will be the predominant focus in the spring. Our formatting has followed suit and slotted defenders into the two-deep based on a four-man front.
